Welcome to the website of Susan Kaye, writer of
Austen-based fan fiction making use of the great characters of
Persuasion. Here will will find a listing of all
my stories available online, free for the reading. Also visit
my page
dedicated to the series, Frederick Wentworth,
Captain; a two-volume series is the story of Jane
Austen's Persuasion told from Captain Frederick
Wentworth's point of view.
|
| Plymouth
was my first fan fiction story. After reading Persuasion, all
I could wonder what was, "what did he do those three days?"
Here's what I came up with. |
| A
Brother Is Born For Adversity is the story
of Wentworth's six weeks in Shropshire with his brother.
Edward Wentworth was out of Frederick's life until their
parents died when he was 12. Edward returned to save
Sophia and Frederick from uncertainty, at the cost of his own
independence. Twenty years later, Frederick seeks refuge with
Edward, the rector of his own parish, and a newlywed. With his
brother happy and his own future out of his hands, Frederick
learns some valuable lessons about life and love..
|
| For You Alone is a first person
accounting of Frederick Wentworth's ten-day campaign to make
things right with Anne Elliot. |
| The Knowledge of His Being There
is a series of vignettes leading up to the wedding day of
Captain Frederick Wentworth and Anne Elliot. |
|
The
Villain's Part is a stand alone short story
involving William Walter Elliot, Anne Wentworth and a family
memento.
If
I Had Then Written is also a stand alone, apistolary. How
might things have things been different if Wentworth
had written Anne just after being promoted to the
Laconia? |
|
Love
Suffer Long and Is Kind is an alternate
Persuasion piece, co-written with my good
friend, Laura Louisa, in which Frederick Wentworth
marries Louisa Musgrove and Anne Elliot marries James Benwick.
Decide for yourself if this pairing might not be to your
liking.
When you finish
LSL, you will want to immediately
start reading Laura Louise's, Mercy's
Embrace, which follows Elizabeth Elliot
into the marriage market. |
